Why Your Monthly Electricity Bill Needs a Smarter Payment Method
If you’ve ever waited at a TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL counter, you know the drill token numbers, slow queues, and then the anxiety of whether your payment actually reflects before the due date. It doesn’t have to be that way.
Telangana runs two electricity distribution companies TGSPDCL (Southern) covering Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, and surrounding districts, and TGNPDCL (Northern) covering 18 northern districts including Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and others. Both are now connected to Easebuzz’s payment platform, which means you can clear your dues in under 2 minutes from your phone or laptop.
This guide walks you through exactly how step by step, with zero jargon.
First: Identify Your Electricity Company
Before you pay, you need to know which of the two distribution companies serves your area. This is easy - your electricity bill will clearly mention the company name. If you don’t have your bill handy, here’s the quick reference:
TGSPDCL
Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited
Districts Covered: Hyderabad · Rangareddy · Medak · Vikarabad · Sangareddy · Mahabubnagar · Gadwal · Nagarkurnool · Wanaparthy · Jogulamba · Nalgonda · Suryapet · Yadadri · Bhongir · Narayanpet
TGNPDCL
Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited
Districts Covered: Warangal · Karimnagar · Nizamabad · Adilabad · Khammam · Bhupalpally · Jayashankar · Mancherial · Nirmal · Jagtial · Peddapalli · Rajanna-Sircilla · Komuram Bheem · Mulugu · Bhadradri · Kothagudem · Nagar Kurnool · Wanaparthy
Quick check: Open any old electricity bill. The logo and company name at the top will confirm whether you’re with TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL. Your Unique Service Number (USN) — typically a 10–12 digit number — will be printed prominently near the top.
Pay Your Telangana Electricity Bill via Easebuzz 3 Steps
No account creation. No app to download. Just open the link, enter your USN, and pay. Here’s exactly what you’ll see:
Open the correct Easebuzz payment link for your distributor
These are official Easebuzz-powered pages built specifically for Telangana electricity consumers. Both work on mobile and desktop without any login.
Enter your Unique Service Number (USN) to fetch your bill
On the Easebuzz payment page, you’ll see a field asking for your Service Number / Consumer Number / USN. Type it in exactly as printed on your bill no spaces needed.
Once you click “Fetch Bill” or “Get Details”, the system pulls your current outstanding amount, billing period, consumer name, and due date directly from the TGSPDCL/TGNPDCL servers. Take a moment to verify the name and amount before proceeding.
Choose your payment method and confirm
Select how you’d like to pay UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. Complete the payment, and within seconds you’ll receive an on-screen confirmation along with a receipt. Your bill status on TGSPDCL/TGNPDCL servers updates typically within a few minutes to 24 hours.
On UPI: You’ll be redirected to your UPI app (PhonePe, GPay, Paytm, BHIM) to approve the payment. Enter your UPI PIN and done.
On cards: Enter your card details on the secure Easebuzz payment page 256-bit encrypted. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile for 2FA confirmation.
Always save your payment receipt: After successful payment, download or screenshot the confirmation page. If the bill still shows as outstanding after 48 hours, this receipt is what you’ll need to raise a complaint with TGSPDCL/TGNPDCL.
Where Do I Find My USN / Consumer Number?
The Unique Service Number (USN) also printed as “Service Connection No.”, “Consumer No.”, or “Account Number” on some bills is the single most important thing you need to pay your electricity bill online. Here’s exactly where to find it:
Your USN appears in these places
It’s a numeric code, usually 10–12 digits long. Check any of these:
If you’ve genuinely lost your USN and have no old bills, visit your nearest TGSPDCL section office or MeeSeva kiosk with your Aadhaar card and registered mobile number. They can pull your account details and give you the USN on the spot.
Note: TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL also have “Know Your Bill” tools on their respective websites (tgsouthernpower.org and tgnpdcl.com) where you can look up bill details using your registered mobile number if you don’t have the USN immediately.

Offline Payment Options (For When You Prefer In-Person)
Not everyone is comfortable paying online, and that’s perfectly fine. TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL maintain a well-distributed offline network across Telangana. Here are your options:
TGSPDCL / TGNPDCL Section Offices & Sub-Stations
Walk in with your bill, pay at the counter. Cash and cheque accepted. You’ll receive a stamped receipt on the spot. Best for large commercial bills or disputed payments.
MeeSeva Centres
The government’s citizen services kiosks accept electricity bill payments. Widely available across Telangana, including smaller towns and taluk-level centres. Carries a small service fee.
Authorised Bank Branches
Selected bank branches including State Bank of India, Union Bank, and some cooperative banks accept electricity bill payments on behalf of both distribution companies. Carry your printed bill for reference.
T-Wallet & T-App Folio (Telangana Government Apps)
The state government’s digital wallet and citizen services app also support electricity bill payment for both TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL. Useful if you’re already using these apps for other government services.
Offline payments generally reflect within 1–3 working days. Always keep your payment receipt until the bill status updates in the portal.
Basic Points to Avoid Late Fees and Reconnection Hassles
Pay before the due date, not on it. Online payments via Easebuzz are processed in real time, but give yourself a day’s buffer especially if paying close to midnight on the due date.
Always verify the consumer name before paying. When the bill fetches after you enter your USN, confirm the name matches your account. A wrong USN entered in haste can send your payment to someone else’s account.
Save the Easebuzz payment link to your phone’s home screen. That way, every month when the bill arrives, you’re one tap away from paying no searching, no navigating.
Download your payment receipt immediately. The Easebuzz confirmation page gives you a receipt, screenshot it or download it to your phone. This is your proof if any dispute arises.
Check your bill amount against your meter reading. If the billed amount seems unusually high, cross-check with the “Know Your Bill” section on the TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL portal before paying. Raise a meter reading dispute first if something’s off.
Keep your mobile number updated with your discom. Both TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL send SMS alerts when your bill is generated and when payment is received. A registered mobile number ensures you never miss a cycle.
Common Payment Failures Issues & How Quickly Fix Them
Money got deducted but the bill still shows as unpaid: This is normal in some cases. Payment reconciliation between Easebuzz and the discom servers can take up to 24–48 hours. Wait for 2 working days before raising a complaint. If it still shows unpaid after that, contact Easebuzz support with your transaction reference number and payment receipt screenshot. Do not pay again without confirmation.
The USN I entered says “consumer not found”: Double-check the USN from your physical bill-don't rely on memory or typed notes. Make sure you're entering the right type of number (some portals call it Consumer Number, some call it Service Connection No. they're the same). Also ensure you've opened the correct link: TGSPDCL link for southern districts, TGNPDCL link for northern districts.
UPI payment failed after the amount was deducted: UPI failures with successful deductions are automatically reversed by NPCI within 2–5 business days. Check your bank statement. If the amount hasn't returned after 5 business days, contact your bank’s customer care with the UPI transaction ID (UTR number).
The Easebuzz page isn’t loading on my phone: Try refreshing the page or switching from your mobile data to a Wi-Fi connection (or vice versa). Clear your browser cache and retry. If the issue persists, try a different browser Chrome and Safari both work well with Easebuzz payment pages. The links work on all Android and iOS devices.
I paid the wrong account / entered a wrong USN: Contact Easebuzz support immediately at support@easebuzz.in with your transaction details. Since the payment would have gone to a valid registered consumer, the resolution process involves both Easebuzz and the discom. Act quickly ideally within the same day of the wrong transaction.
FAQ’s
What is TGSPDCL and who does it serve?
TGSPDCL stands for Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (earlier known as TSSPDCL). It distributes electricity to the southern districts of Telangana including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, and surrounding areas covering over 10.3 million consumers.
Do I need to create an account on Easebuzz to pay my electricity bill?
No. The Easebuzz TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL payment pages work as a quick-pay portal. You only need your USN (Service Number). No registration, no login, no app download required.
Is it safe to pay electricity bills through Easebuzz?
Yes. Easebuzz is a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). All transactions are encrypted with 256-bit SSL. The platform processes thousands of utility payments daily for businesses and consumers across India.
How long does it take for the TGSPDCL bill to update after payment?
For most UPI and card payments, the bill status on the TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL portal updates within a few minutes to a few hours. In some cases, especially for net banking, it may take up to 24–48 hours. The official guidance is to wait up to 3 working days before raising a complaint.
Can I pay electricity bills for someone else (e.g. parents, tenant property)?
Yes. The payment page only requires the USN number, it doesn't verify who is making the payment. As long as you have the correct USN of the connection you want to pay for, you can pay for any account in Telangana.
What if my electricity is disconnected for non-payment can I restore it online?
Pay your outstanding dues including the late payment surcharge through Easebuzz. Once the payment reflects in the TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL system (usually within 24 hours), you can contact your section office or submit a restoration request through the discom's official portal. Reconnection typically happens within 24–48 hours of payment confirmation.
Is there GST on electricity bill payments in Telangana?
Domestic electricity consumption (residential connections) is exempt from GST in India. However, commercial and industrial connections may have additional charges applicable. Your bill will clearly itemise all charges including fixed charges, energy charges, and any applicable surcharges.
